This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Search, Rankings & Recommendations Policy, Editorial Curation, Featured Content & Staff Picks Policy, Creator Analytics & Performance Metrics Policy, Box Office, Budget & Performance Data Policy, Invalid Traffic & Artificial Engagement Policy, Fraud Prevention & Risk Review Policy, User Generated Content Policy, and Account Suspension & Termination Policy.

2. Purpose of This Policy
Trending, charts, and popularity lists help users discover content that may be widely viewed, recently active, regionally popular, fast-growing, editorially relevant, or otherwise notable on Playflick.
This policy explains:
- How trending and chart features may work
- What signals Playflick may consider when ranking popularity
- How charts may vary by region, time, genre, and user setting
- What chart manipulation and artificial engagement are prohibited
- Why chart positions may change, disappear, or be adjusted
- How users may report suspected chart manipulation or errors
3. Feature Availability
Trending rows, popularity charts, top lists, regional charts, genre charts, creator charts, most-watched lists, fastest-rising lists, trailer charts, event charts, chart labels, and related features may not be available to every user, country, account type, content type, device, browser, or app version.
Playflick may add, remove, restrict, redesign, suspend, or discontinue trending, chart, and popularity features at any time.
4. Types of Charts and Popularity Lists
Playflick may provide different chart or popularity surfaces where available.
These may include:
- Trending now
- Most watched
- Most saved
- Most liked
- Most discussed
- Fastest rising
- Top films
- Top series
- Top trailers
- Top creators
- Regional charts
- Genre or category charts
5. Ranking Signals
Playflick may use different signals to calculate trending, chart, or popularity placement.
Signals may include:
- Views
- Watch time
- Completion rate
- Recent growth
- Saves or watchlist additions
- Likes or reactions
- Comments or discussion activity
- Shares
- Search interest
- Regional interest
- Release timing
- Quality, safety, or policy signals
6. Time Windows
Charts may be calculated over different time windows.
Time windows may include:
- Hourly
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Opening weekend
- Release week
- Seasonal periods
- All-time periods
Chart positions may change frequently as new activity is recorded or as time windows refresh.
7. Regional and Personalised Charts
Charts may differ by country, region, language, age setting, availability, licensing, account type, user preferences, or platform design.
Users in different regions may see different trending content because content availability, viewing activity, legal requirements, language settings, and regional interest may differ.
8. Chart Position Is Not Guaranteed
Playflick does not guarantee that content will appear in trending, charts, popularity lists, top lists, or discovery surfaces.
Playflick may change chart methodology, update chart surfaces, remove content from charts, or adjust chart positions at any time.
9. Chart Position Is Not an Endorsement
Appearing in trending, charts, or popularity lists does not mean that Playflick endorses, sponsors, guarantees, approves, or takes responsibility for the content, creator, claims, links, products, services, opinions, or activity associated with that content.
Charted content must still follow Playflick policies.
10. Availability and Chart Eligibility
Content may be excluded, removed, reduced, or hidden from charts if it is unavailable, expired, region-blocked, age-restricted, private, unlisted, removed, rights-restricted, payment-restricted, or otherwise unsuitable for the chart surface.
Chart eligibility may also depend on account status, content status, metadata quality, safety review, and policy compliance.
11. New Releases and Rising Content
New releases, premieres, trailers, episodes, livestreams, and creator uploads may receive separate ranking treatment where features are available.
Fast-rising charts may consider growth speed, freshness, audience response, viewing quality, and engagement quality rather than total lifetime activity alone.
12. Editorial and Safety Adjustments
Playflick may apply editorial, safety, quality, legal, rights, fraud, or platform integrity adjustments to charts.
Adjustments may happen where content involves:
- Policy concerns
- Rights disputes
- Misleading metadata
- Artificial engagement
- Invalid traffic
- Spam behaviour
- Safety risks
- Availability issues
13. Invalid Traffic and Artificial Engagement
Views, watch time, likes, saves, comments, shares, searches, recommendations, or chart activity must not be artificially inflated.
Prohibited activity may include:
- Bot views
- Click farms
- Automated playback
- Fake watch time
- Fake likes or saves
- Fake comments
- Coordinated engagement manipulation
- Paid engagement schemes
- Repeated self-refreshing to inflate views
More information is available in our Invalid Traffic & Artificial Engagement Policy.
14. Chart Manipulation
Users must not manipulate trending, charts, popularity lists, discovery surfaces, or ranking systems.
Chart manipulation may include:
- Using fake accounts to boost content
- Coordinating artificial viewing groups
- Using scripts or bots to generate activity
- Buying fake engagement
- Misleading users into repeated playback
- Using spam links to generate low-quality traffic
- Manipulating metadata to enter unrelated charts
- Uploading duplicates to crowd chart surfaces
15. Metadata and Chart Placement
Metadata may affect chart eligibility and categorisation.
Users must not use misleading titles, genres, tags, categories, release dates, language labels, cast information, or artwork to enter charts where content does not belong.
Playflick may correct metadata, remove content from charts, or restrict accounts involved in metadata-based chart manipulation.
16. Sponsored or Paid Promotion
Paid promotion, advertising, sponsorship, affiliate campaigns, or brand deals should not be misrepresented as organic chart performance.
Playflick may label, separate, adjust, or exclude paid promotional activity from certain chart calculations where appropriate.
Users must not buy fake popularity or use undisclosed paid promotion to mislead viewers, advertisers, sponsors, or collaborators.
17. Chart Metrics May Differ From Creator Analytics
Public chart information may not match private creator analytics, monetisation reports, revenue reports, watch-time reports, or dashboard statistics.
Differences may result from:
- Different time windows
- Different counting methods
- Regional filters
- Invalid traffic adjustments
- Privacy protections
- Delayed processing
- Rounding or aggregation
- Chart-specific eligibility rules
18. Chart Updates and Delays
Trending and chart information may be delayed, cached, rounded, estimated, corrected, or unavailable.
Chart updates may be affected by technical issues, moderation review, fraud review, traffic validation, rights review, platform incidents, or scheduled maintenance.
19. Disputed Chart Positions
Users may disagree with chart positions, chart eligibility, ranking changes, removals, or popularity calculations.
Playflick may review suspected errors or manipulation where appropriate, but Playflick is not required to explain every chart position, methodology detail, ranking change, or removal decision.
20. Confidential Methodology
Playflick may keep some chart methodology, anti-abuse signals, ranking calculations, fraud detection methods, and integrity systems confidential to prevent manipulation and protect platform integrity.
Users are not entitled to access confidential chart methodology or anti-abuse systems.
21. Child Safety
Trending and chart features must not be used to exploit, sexualise, identify, harass, groom, or endanger children or young users.
Playflick may restrict, remove, or reduce content from charts where child-safety concerns exist, even if the content receives high engagement.
Serious child-safety concerns may result in immediate account action and reporting where appropriate or required.
22. Reports and Support
