  • Concept trailer
  • Parody trailer
  • Commentary edit
  • Unofficial preview
  • AI-generated concept where applicable

7. Misleading Promotional Videos

Promotional videos must not mislead users about the content, release status, availability, cast, studio involvement, rights, price, event access, or official status.

Misleading promotional practices may include:

  • Using unrelated footage to promote a different title
  • Claiming a fake release date
  • Claiming fake studio involvement
  • Claiming fake celebrity appearances
  • Promoting fake screenings or events
  • Implying content is available when it is not
  • Using fake critic quotes or awards
  • Falsely presenting fan edits as official trailers

8. Title, Thumbnail, and Metadata Accuracy

Promotional video titles, thumbnails, descriptions, tags, metadata, posters, and preview images should accurately reflect the content.

Users must not use:

  • Clickbait thumbnails unrelated to the promo
  • Fake release dates
  • Misleading celebrity names
  • Unrelated franchise names
  • False “official trailer” labels
  • Misleading availability claims

9. Spoilers in Trailers and Promos

Trailers, teasers, clips, and previews may reveal plot details.

Users should avoid unnecessarily revealing major spoilers in titles, thumbnails, descriptions, or visible metadata, especially for recent releases, episode endings, character deaths, twist reveals, surprise cameos, or post-credit scenes.

More information is available in our Spoilers & Plot Discussion Policy.

10. Clips and Excerpts

Short clips or excerpts may be allowed where the uploader has rights or a lawful basis.

  • Violates confidentiality or rights agreements
  • Misleads users about official availability

11. Sizzle Reels and Showreels

Users are responsible for ensuring that they have the rights needed to upload and distribute such materials on Playflick.

Playflick may remove or restrict reels that infringe rights, mislead users, or violate platform policies.

More information is available in our Advertising Policy, Brand Deals & Paid Partnership Policy, and Product Placement & Branded Content Policy.

14. Age Ratings and Sensitive Content

Promotional videos may contain violence, horror, sexual content, strong language, drug references, flashing images, or other sensitive material.

Users should provide accurate content warnings, age ratings, metadata, or restrictions where required by Playflick tools, law, or applicable classification rules.

Promotional videos must not be used to evade content rating or age restriction systems.

15. Child Safety

Trailers, teasers, clips, and promotional videos must not be used to exploit, sexualise, identify, harass, groom, or endanger children or young users.

Users must not upload promotional videos that:

  • Sexualise minors

  • Invite unsafe contact with children
  • Misrepresent child performer consent
  • Target children with unsafe external links
  • Promote exploitative content involving minors

Serious child-safety concerns may result in immediate account action and reporting where appropriate or required.

16. AI-Generated Promotional Videos

AI-generated or synthetic promotional videos must not mislead users about whether footage, performances, voices, likenesses, trailers, or releases are real or official.

Users should label AI-generated promotional content clearly where needed to avoid confusion.

AI-generated promos must not impersonate actors, creators, studios, brands, or official trailers without appropriate rights or permission.

17. Leaks and Confidential Materials

Users must not upload leaked trailers, unreleased clips, confidential production materials, test screening footage, unfinished cuts, private screeners, or embargoed promotional materials without permission.

Playflick may remove or restrict leaked promotional content where rights, confidentiality, legal, safety, or platform integrity concerns exist.

  • Safety and policy compliance
  • Platform ranking or editorial systems where applicable

Playflick does not guarantee that any trailer will be featured, ranked, recommended, or placed prominently.

Promotional videos may be monetised only where eligible under Playflick monetisation rules and where the uploader has the required rights.

Playflick may restrict monetisation where promotional videos involve:

  • Invalid traffic
  • Artificial engagement
  • Sponsored content disclosure issues

Prohibited conduct may include:

  • Using unrelated celebrity footage
  • Creating fake release announcements
  • Using promos to direct users to phishing links
