2. Purpose of This Policy

Playflick may allow creators, studios, distributors, rights holders, contributors, cast members, crew members, and authorised representatives to add or display production credits where features are available.

This policy explains:

  • How cast, crew, and contributor credits may be added or displayed
  • What users are responsible for when submitting credits
  • How role labels and attribution should be used
  • How credit disputes and removal requests may be handled
  • What misleading or false credit claims are prohibited
  • How Playflick may restrict or remove inaccurate credits

3. Feature Availability

Cast credits, crew credits, contributor credits, role labels, linked profiles, filmography pages, credit verification, contributor tagging, credit dispute tools, and related credit features may not be available to every user, creator, country, account type, content type, device, or platform surface.

Playflick may add, remove, restrict, redesign, suspend, or discontinue credit features at any time.

4. Types of Credits

Credits may identify people, businesses, studios, teams, or organisations that contributed to content.

Credits may include:

  • Cast
  • Director
  • Writer
  • Producer
  • Executive producer
  • Editor
  • Cinematographer
  • Composer
  • Music contributor
  • Voice performer
  • Animator
  • Visual effects contributor
  • Studio, distributor, or production company

5. Responsibility for Credit Accuracy

Users who submit credits are responsible for ensuring that credits are accurate, lawful, non-misleading, and authorised.

Users should not add credits unless they have a reasonable basis for believing the credit is correct.

Playflick may not independently verify every credit before it appears.

6. Role Labels

Role labels should describe a person’s or organisation’s actual contribution accurately.

Users must not use role labels to exaggerate, misrepresent, impersonate, harass, or falsely claim involvement.

Examples of misleading role labels may include:

  • Claiming to be a director without authority
  • Claiming a producer credit that was not agreed
  • Listing someone as cast when they did not appear
  • Adding a famous person to gain traffic
  • Claiming studio involvement without permission
  • Using false “official” or “verified” labels

7. Linked Profiles and Identity

Credits may link to Playflick profiles or public contributor pages where features are available.

Users must not link credits to the wrong person, impersonate contributors, create fake contributor profiles, or mislead users about a person’s involvement.

Playflick may unlink, correct, merge, restrict, or remove credit links where appropriate.

8. Consent and Authorisation

Users should have appropriate consent, authority, contractual permission, or lawful basis before submitting credits that identify private individuals, minors, crew members, performers, contractors, or contributors.

Certain credits may require additional care where they involve:

  • Children or young performers
  • Private individuals
  • Uncredited or anonymous contributors
  • Stunt performers or sensitive work
  • Production staff who requested privacy
  • Confidential or unreleased productions

9. Credits for Children and Young Performers

Credits involving children or young performers must be handled safely and lawfully.

Users must not use credits to:

  • Expose children’s private information
  • Sexualise or exploit minors
  • Identify children in unsafe contexts
  • Harass child actors or young creators
  • Invite unsafe contact with children
  • Misrepresent guardian consent where required

Serious child-safety concerns may result in immediate account action and reporting where appropriate or required.

10. Credit Ordering

Playflick may allow credit ordering where features are available.

Credit ordering may be based on:

  • Creator input
  • Studio or distributor information
  • Contractual billing order
  • Alphabetical order
  • Role category
  • Platform formatting
  • Automated or imported metadata where available

Playflick does not guarantee that credit order will reflect contractual billing unless Playflick expressly supports that feature.

11. Imported or Third-Party Credits

Playflick may import, receive, display, or process credits from creators, studios, distributors, public databases, metadata providers, rights holders, APIs, or other third-party sources where available.

Imported credits may be incomplete, outdated, inconsistent, duplicated, or inaccurate.

Users may report credit errors where correction tools are available.

12. Credit Verification

Playflick may provide credit verification or review tools where available.

Verification may consider:

  • Creator confirmation
  • Studio or distributor confirmation
  • Official production materials
  • Contracts or call sheets where appropriate
  • Publicly available credits
  • Contributor confirmation
  • Rights holder information
  • Fraud or impersonation signals

Verification does not guarantee that every credit is legally final, complete, or undisputed.

13. Credit Disputes

Credit disputes may arise between creators, actors, crew members, producers, studios, agencies, distributors, managers, unions, rights holders, or contributors.

Playflick may review disputes where appropriate, but Playflick may not resolve every private contract, employment, union, guild, agency, production, attribution, or authorship dispute.

Playflick may require legal documents, written agreements, official production records, court orders, or authorised statements before making certain changes.

14. Credit Removal Requests

A person, authorised representative, rights holder, studio, distributor, or creator may request removal or correction of a credit where appropriate.

Playflick may consider removal where a credit is:

  • False or misleading
  • Linked to the wrong person
  • Unauthorised
  • Unsafe
  • Privacy-invasive
  • Impersonating someone
  • Infringing rights
  • Required to be removed by law or valid order

15. Anonymous, Pseudonymous, or Uncredited Work

Some contributors may work anonymously, pseudonymously, under a stage name, or without public credit.

Users must not expose a private identity behind a pseudonym or anonymous credit where doing so would violate privacy, contract, safety, or legal rights.

Playflick may restrict or remove credits that reveal private identities without appropriate basis.

16. Credit Fraud and Misrepresentation

Users must not use credits to commit fraud, impersonation, harassment, traffic manipulation, reputation abuse, or rights abuse.

Prohibited conduct may include:

  • Adding fake celebrity credits
  • Adding competitors as false contributors
  • Creating fake production company credits
  • Using credits for keyword spam
  • Adding fake awards or official roles
  • Listing contributors to imply endorsement without permission
  • Using credits to mislead advertisers, viewers, or investors

17. Credits and Search Visibility

Credits may affect search, recommendations, profile pages, filmography pages, watch pages, creator pages, discovery surfaces, or metadata displays where features are available.

Users must not abuse credits to manipulate search, recommendations, rankings, popularity, analytics, or audience discovery.

18. Credits and Revenue Splits

Being listed in credits does not automatically create a right to revenue, payouts, ownership, monetisation, royalties, or revenue splits through Playflick.

Revenue splits, if available, must be separately set up and approved according to Playflick’s monetisation and revenue split policies.

19. Credits and Rights Ownership

A credit does not automatically prove copyright ownership, trademark ownership, distribution rights, talent release rights, music rights, publicity rights, or authority to monetise content.

Rights issues may be handled under Playflick’s rights and takedown policies.

20. Sensitive Productions

Some productions may involve sensitive topics, vulnerable participants, minors, safety risks, confidential locations, or protected identities.

Users should take care before publicly listing credits that may expose people to harassment, danger, privacy harm, discrimination, or retaliation.
