2. Purpose of This Policy
Login sessions and active-device tools help users understand where their account may be signed in, manage account security, review suspicious access, and sign out from devices they no longer use.
This policy explains:
- How login sessions may work
- How active devices and remembered devices may be displayed
- How remote sign-out may work
- Why sessions may expire or be terminated
- How shared devices may affect privacy and security
- How Playflick may respond to suspicious login activity
3. Feature Availability
Active-device lists, login history, session management, remote sign-out, trusted-device settings, remembered-device settings, session alerts, device labels, and related account security tools may not be available to every user, country, device, browser, app version, account type, or connected-device feature.
Playflick may add, remove, restrict, redesign, suspend, or discontinue session and active-device features at any time.
4. What Is a Login Session?
A login session is a period during which a device, browser, app, or connected device is recognised as signed in to a Playflick account.
Login sessions may be created when users:
- Enter their email and password
- Use a passkey or single sign-on where available
- Complete two-factor authentication
- Use a connected-device sign-in code
- Use account recovery or verification tools
- Choose to stay signed in where available
5. Active Devices
Active-device tools may show devices, browsers, apps, or connected devices that appear to have current or recent access to an account.
Active-device information may include:
- Device type
- Browser or app type
- Approximate location
- Recent activity time
- Operating system
- IP-related information where available
- Connected TV or streaming device details where available
- Whether a session appears current or expired
Device information may be approximate, incomplete, delayed, or unavailable.
6. Remembered and Trusted Devices
Playflick may allow users to remember or trust devices where features are available.
Remembered or trusted devices may reduce how often users are asked to sign in, complete two-factor authentication, or verify access.
Users should only trust devices they control and should not trust public, shared, school, workplace, library, hotel, or borrowed devices.
7. Session Expiry
Login sessions may expire automatically.
Sessions may expire because of:
- Time limits
- Password changes
- Security checks
- Account recovery activity
- Suspicious login signals
- Browser cookie clearing
- App updates or reinstallations
- Device or network changes
- Policy or legal requirements
8. Remote Sign-Out
Users may be able to sign out of individual devices or all devices through account settings where features are available.
Remote sign-out may not always be immediate and may not affect:
- Already downloaded content
- Cached pages
- Temporary offline access where available
- Third-party services already connected
- Sessions that have already expired
- Devices that are offline until they reconnect
Users should change their password and enable two-factor authentication if they suspect account compromise.
9. Suspicious Login Alerts
Playflick may notify users about suspicious or unusual login activity where features are available.
Suspicious login alerts may be triggered by:
- New devices
- New locations
- Unusual IP addresses
- Repeated failed login attempts
- Account recovery activity
- Password or security setting changes
- Payment or payout setting changes
- Fraud or risk signals
10. Shared Devices
Shared devices can create privacy and security risks.
Shared devices may include:
- Family computers
- Shared phones or tablets
- Smart TVs
- Streaming devices
- Game consoles
- School or workplace devices
- Hotel or public devices
- Library or café computers
Users should sign out after using shared devices and avoid saving passwords on devices they do not control.
11. Privacy on Active Devices
Staying signed in on a device may allow other people using that device to see account information.
Information visible to others may include:
- Profile information
- Watch history
- Search history
- Continue watching rows
- Saved items
- Subscriptions or memberships
- Notifications
- Messages where available
- Account settings where not protected by additional verification
12. Connected Devices and TV Sessions
Connected devices, smart TVs, streaming devices, and game consoles may use special login or device-linking sessions.
These sessions may remain active until users sign out, revoke access, reset the device, clear app data, or the session expires.
More information is available in our Casting, Smart TV & Connected Devices Policy.
13. Session Security Checks
Playflick may require additional verification before allowing certain account actions.
Additional checks may apply to:
- Password changes
- Email changes
- Two-factor authentication changes
- Payment method changes
- Payout method changes
- Account deletion requests
- Business or team role changes
- High-risk login activity
14. Account Compromise
If Playflick suspects an account has been compromised, Playflick may take protective action.
Protective action may include:
- Signing out suspicious sessions
- Requiring password reset
- Requiring two-factor authentication
- Restricting sensitive account changes
- Restricting payments or payouts
- Restricting posting, messaging, or uploads
- Notifying the account holder where appropriate
- Preserving records for security review
15. Password Changes and Session Reset
Changing a password may sign out some or all active sessions where features are available.
Some devices may remain signed in briefly because of technical delay, offline status, cached access, connected-device design, or session synchronisation limits.
Users should review active devices after changing passwords.
16. Two-Factor Authentication and Sessions
Two-factor authentication may help protect login sessions and account security.
Users may still need to manage trusted devices, backup codes, recovery methods, and active sessions carefully.
Losing access to two-factor authentication may require account recovery review.
17. Session Limits
Playflick may apply limits on active sessions, concurrent streams, device linking, connected devices, downloads, or account access where appropriate.
Session limits may depend on:
- Account type
- Subscription plan
- Paid content terms
- Security risk
- Fraud prevention
- Rights restrictions
- Device compatibility
- Platform availability
18. VPNs, Proxies, and Location Signals
VPNs, proxies, mobile networks, shared networks, or travel may affect login session information and suspicious login alerts.
Approximate location signals may be inaccurate or may appear different from the user’s actual location.
Playflick may still use security signals to detect suspicious activity or protect accounts.
19. Session Records
Playflick may keep records related to login sessions and device activity.
Session records may include:
- Login timestamps
- Logout timestamps where available
- Device identifiers or device categories
- Browser or app information
- Approximate location or IP-related data
- Security challenge records
- Failed login attempts
- Remote sign-out records
20. Misuse of Login Sessions
Users must not misuse login sessions, active devices, trusted devices, sign-in codes, account access, or connected-device sessions.
Prohibited misuse may include:
- Accessing another user’s account without permission
- Using stolen sessions or cookies
- Sharing one-time login codes
- Bypassing two-factor authentication
- Using session theft tools
- Using public devices to access accounts left signed in
- Selling or renting account access
- Using automation to maintain unauthorised sessions
