2. Purpose of This Policy

Playflick supports lawful fan discussion, commentary, reviews, appreciation, criticism, parody, and community building. However, fan-led spaces must not mislead users into believing they are official, authorised, endorsed, or controlled by the person, brand, creator, studio, film, organisation, or business being discussed.

This policy explains:

  • How fan communities and unofficial pages may operate
  • How unofficial status should be made clear
  • What impersonation or misleading official claims are prohibited
  • How trademarks, logos, copyrighted materials, and publicity rights should be handled
  • How parody, commentary, and criticism pages may be treated
  • How Playflick may respond to confusion, rights complaints, or abuse

3. Fan Pages Are Allowed Where Not Misleading

Fan communities, tribute pages, discussion pages, review pages, parody pages, and unofficial communities may be allowed where they are lawful, respectful, and not misleading.

Fan-led pages should make clear that they are unofficial where there is a reasonable risk of confusion.

4. Unofficial Status Must Be Clear

Fan pages and unofficial communities should not confuse users about their relationship to the person, creator, film, studio, brand, organisation, or business being discussed.

Where needed, pages should use clear wording such as:

  • “Unofficial fan page”
  • “Fan community”
  • “Not affiliated with [Name]”
  • “Independent discussion community”
  • “Parody account” where applicable
  • “Review and commentary page” where applicable

5. No False Official Claims

Fan pages must not falsely claim to be official, verified, authorised, endorsed, sponsored, partnered, managed, or approved by another person, creator, studio, brand, company, charity, festival, event, or organisation.

Prohibited claims may include:

  • “Official page” where not true
  • “Verified by Playflick” where not true
  • “Managed by [Celebrity]” where not true
  • “Official studio account” where not true
  • “Approved fan club” where not true
  • “Exclusive partner” where not true
  • “Authorised ticket seller” where not true

6. Names, Handles, and URLs

Fan page names, handles, usernames, community names, and profile URLs must not be confusingly similar to official accounts in a way that misleads users.

Names and handles should avoid:

  • Impersonating the official account
  • Using “official” without authorisation
  • Using “support” or “help” in a way that suggests official service
  • Using misleading verification wording
  • Using brand or celebrity names in a confusing way
  • Creating fake regional official pages

7. Profile Images, Logos, and Banners

Fan pages must not use profile images, banners, logos, badges, verification-style marks, studio marks, brand assets, or official artwork in a way that misleads users about official status.

Fan pages should not copy official branding so closely that users may believe the page is controlled by the official person, company, studio, brand, or organisation.

8. Trademarks and Brand Assets

Fan pages must respect trademarks, logos, trade names, studio marks, franchise names, film titles, character names, and other brand assets.

Users must not use trademarks in a confusing or deceptive way, especially to sell products, collect payments, impersonate official channels, or mislead users about affiliation.

Trademark complaints may be handled under our Trademark Policy.

9. Copyrighted Materials

Fan pages must respect copyright and other rights.

Copyrighted materials may include:

  • Film clips
  • Trailers
  • Images
  • Posters
  • Music
  • Scripts
  • Subtitles
  • Behind-the-scenes footage
  • Promotional artwork
  • Episodes or full films

Copyright complaints may be handled under our Copyright & Takedown Policy.

10. Publicity and Personality Rights

Fan pages involving actors, creators, influencers, performers, filmmakers, public figures, private individuals, or other people must not misuse someone’s name, image, likeness, voice, identity, or reputation in unlawful or misleading ways.

Fan activity must not be used to impersonate, scam, harass, exploit, or falsely endorse products, services, payments, or campaigns.

11. Celebrity and Creator Fan Pages

Celebrity and creator fan pages should be respectful and must not impersonate the person or falsely suggest that the person controls the page.

Fan pages must not:

  • Send messages pretending to be the celebrity or creator
  • Sell fake meet-and-greet access
  • Collect payments for fake fan club benefits
  • Claim fake personal relationships
  • Publish private personal information
  • Coordinate harassment of the person, their family, or other fans

12. Film, Series, and Studio Fan Pages

Fan pages for films, series, franchises, studios, festivals, or entertainment brands must not falsely suggest official ownership, distribution authority, screening rights, ticketing authority, partnership, or promotional approval.

Fan pages must not:

  • Sell fake tickets or access passes
  • Claim fake premiere access
  • Upload full films or episodes without rights
  • Use official logos to mislead users
  • Claim to represent the studio or distributor without authority
  • Run fake casting or audition calls

13. Parody and Commentary Pages

Parody, criticism, review, commentary, satire, or discussion pages may be allowed where they are not misleading, unlawful, harassing, abusive, or rights-infringing.

Parody pages should be clear enough that reasonable users understand they are not official.

Parody must not be used as a cover for scams, impersonation, harassment, doxxing, child-safety violations, or rights abuse.

14. Fan Communities and Moderation

Fan community owners, admins, and moderators are responsible for managing their spaces responsibly.

Fan communities must not be used to:

  • Coordinate harassment
  • Spread private personal information
  • Promote scams or fake offers
  • Sell fake merchandise, tickets, or access
  • Share illegal or infringing copies of content
  • Target children or vulnerable users
  • Manipulate votes, reviews, ratings, or engagement

15. Fan Merchandise and Commercial Activity

Fan pages must not use Playflick to sell counterfeit goods, unauthorised merchandise, fake autographs, fake collectibles, fake tickets, fake memberships, fake digital items, or other goods or services that violate rights or mislead users.

Commercial fan activity may be restricted where it creates trademark, copyright, consumer protection, fraud, or safety concerns.

16. Fundraising and Donations

Fan pages must not mislead users about fundraising, donations, charity activity, creator support, fan club payments, or membership fees.

Users must not falsely claim that money will go to a celebrity, creator, charity, studio, production, event, or official fan organisation where that is not true.

17. Safety and Harassment

Fan pages must not encourage harassment, stalking, threats, hate, abuse, doxxing, brigading, or targeted attacks.

Fan communities must not be used to pressure, shame, expose, or attack people, including creators, actors, critics, reviewers, journalists, studios, other fans, or private individuals.

18. Child Safety

Fan pages must not be used to exploit, sexualise, harass, identify, groom, or endanger children or young users.

Users must not:

  • Create sexualised fan pages involving minors
  • Collect children’s private information unlawfully
  • Invite children to unsafe private fan groups
  • Use celebrity or creator fandom to groom young users
  • Share private details about child actors, young creators, or young fans
  • Encourage children to hide contact from parents or guardians

Serious child-safety concerns may result in immediate account action, community removal, evidence preservation, and reporting where appropriate or required.

19. Fan Page Confusion and Corrections

Playflick may require fan pages to update names, descriptions, images, banners, bios, links, community rules, or profile details if users are likely to be confused about official status.

Playflick may also add, require, or suggest unofficial labels where features are available.

20. Rights Holder or Official Account Complaints

Rights holders, creators, celebrities, studios, brands, organisations, or authorised representatives may report fan pages or unofficial communities that create confusion, infringe rights, impersonate official channels, misuse marks, or harm users.

Playflick may request evidence of authority, rights ownership, trademark ownership, copyright ownership, agency status, or other supporting information.

21. Reports About Fan Pages

Users may report fan pages, unofficial communities, parody pages, or tribute pages that involve impersonation, misleading official claims, scams, rights violations, harassment, child-safety concerns, fake merchandise, fake ticketing, or private information.
