This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Content Policy, Impersonation Policy, Trademark Policy, Creator Verification Policy, Business & Brand Accounts Policy, Anti-Spam & Platform Manipulation Policy, and Account Recovery Policy.

2. Purpose of This Policy

Usernames, handles, and channel names help users identify accounts, creators, brands, communities, advertisers, and content on Playflick.

This policy helps prevent:

  • Impersonation
  • Trademark misuse
  • Scams and fake support accounts
  • Confusing or deceptive names
  • Harassment or abusive names
  • Spam or username squatting
  • Misleading creator or brand identities
  • Unsafe or inappropriate account presentation

3. Usernames Must Be Honest and Lawful

You must not choose or use a username, handle, display name, or channel name that is unlawful, misleading, abusive, infringing, deceptive, or harmful.

Names should not mislead users about who you are, what you represent, or whether you are affiliated with another person, brand, company, creator, organisation, public figure, government body, or Playflick.

4. Prohibited Usernames and Handles

You must not use usernames, handles, display names, or channel names that:

  • Impersonate another person, creator, business, brand, public figure, organisation, or Playflick
  • Falsely suggest official status, verification, partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement
  • Use trademarks, logos, brand names, or protected names in a misleading way
  • Promote scams, phishing, malware, fraud, or fake support
  • Contain hate speech, threats, harassment, or targeted abuse
  • Sexualise children or reference child exploitation
  • Promote terrorist, violent extremist, or criminal activity
  • Contain private information about another person
  • Are designed to evade bans, restrictions, or enforcement
  • Are used mainly for spam, fake engagement, or platform manipulation
  • Are vulgar, explicit, or unsuitable for broad platform use

5. Impersonation

You must not use a username, handle, profile name, channel name, avatar, banner, description, or profile layout to impersonate someone else.

Impersonation may include pretending to be:

  • A creator
  • A celebrity
  • A public figure
  • A brand or company
  • A studio or production company
  • A government body
  • A charity or public organisation
  • A Playflick employee, moderator, support account, or official page
  • Another Playflick user

Fan, parody, commentary, or review accounts must be clearly labelled and must not mislead users into believing they are official.

6. Trademarks and Brand Names

You must not use another person’s or organisation’s trademark, business name, logo, product name, or brand identity in a way that creates confusion.

Playflick may restrict, rename, suspend, or transfer usernames where there is a valid trademark, impersonation, brand misuse, or rights complaint.

Trademark complaints should follow our Trademark Policy.

7. Official, Verified, or Support-Like Names

You must not use words, symbols, or formatting that falsely suggest official status.

Restricted or misleading terms may include:

  • Official
  • Verified
  • Admin
  • Moderator
  • Support
  • Help Desk
  • Playflick Support
  • Playflick Admin
  • Security Team
  • Copyright Agent
  • Billing Team

Playflick may reserve or restrict names needed for platform operations, safety, support, legal notices, moderation, security, or official communications.

8. Username Squatting

You must not reserve, collect, sell, rent, trade, or hold usernames mainly to prevent others from using them or to profit from them.

Username squatting may include:

  • Registering many usernames without genuine use
  • Holding brand or creator names for resale
  • Demanding payment for username transfer
  • Creating fake accounts to block legitimate rights holders
  • Using inactive accounts to reserve high-value names

Playflick may reclaim, release, rename, or restrict usernames that appear to be squatted, abusive, misleading, or reserved for bad-faith purposes.

9. Inactive Usernames

Playflick may reclaim or release usernames, handles, or channel URLs connected to inactive, abandoned, deleted, suspended, or terminated accounts where appropriate.

Playflick may consider factors such as:

  • Account activity
  • Login history
  • Upload history
  • Creator activity
  • Public recognition
  • Trademark or business rights
  • Impersonation risk
  • Platform integrity
  • User safety

Playflick is not required to release or transfer inactive usernames on request.

10. Username Changes

Playflick may allow users to change usernames, handles, display names, or channel names where the feature is available.

Username changes may be restricted because of:

  • Availability
  • Rate limits
  • Account verification
  • Policy history
  • Impersonation risk
  • Trademark concerns
  • Fraud or security concerns
  • Account recovery or ownership disputes
  • Technical limitations

Changing your username may affect profile links, search visibility, user recognition, external links, embeds, mentions, and creator branding.

11. Reserved Names

Playflick may reserve certain usernames, handles, channel names, or URL paths.

Reserved names may include names related to:

  • Playflick
  • Platform support

  • Graphic or shocking terms
  • Slurs or dehumanising language
  • Private information about another person
  • Encouragement of self-harm, violence, or abuse

13. Business, Brand, and Creator Names

Business, brand, studio, creator, and organisation accounts should use names they are authorised to use.

Playflick may request verification or supporting information where an account claims to represent a business, brand, creator, rights holder, public figure, agency, studio, or organisation.

Misleading business or brand accounts may be renamed, restricted, suspended, or terminated.

14. Usernames in URLs

Where Playflick provides profile URLs, channel URLs, or handle-based links, usernames may appear in public URLs.

Users should avoid using private information in usernames or URLs, such as:

  • Home addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Private email addresses
  • Identity numbers
  • School names for children
  • Information that could expose personal safety risks

15. Username Transfers

Playflick does not guarantee username transfers between users.

You must not sell, rent, auction, trade, or transfer usernames without Playflick’s permission.

Playflick may refuse, reverse, or restrict transfers where they create security, fraud, impersonation, trademark, payment, or platform integrity risks.

20. Changes to This Policy
