This Sponsored Content & Affiliate Disclosure Policy explains how sponsored content, paid promotions, affiliate links, product placements, endorsements, creator sponsorships, referral links, promotional videos, advertiser relationships, and commercial disclosures should be handled on Playflick.com, operated by Playflick™ Media .ltd.
This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Content Policy, Advertising Policy, Creator Monetisation Terms, Paid Content Terms, Video Upload Policy, User Generated Content Policy, Payments & Billing Terms, Moderation Policy, and Privacy Policy.
1. Who We Are

2. Purpose of This Policy
Playflick wants users to clearly understand when content is commercial, sponsored, paid, promotional, affiliated, or influenced by a business relationship.
This policy helps protect:
- Viewers from misleading promotions
- Creators from unclear disclosure expectations
- Advertisers from deceptive practices
- Children and vulnerable users from unfair influence
- Playflick from advertising, consumer protection, safety, and trust risks
3. What Counts as Sponsored or Promotional Content?
Sponsored or promotional content may include any content where a creator, user, advertiser, or third party receives money, free products, services, discounts, gifts, credits, commissions, benefits, exposure, or other value in exchange for promoting, reviewing, mentioning, displaying, linking to, or endorsing something.
This may include:
- Sponsored videos
- Paid product reviews
- Product placements
- Affiliate links
- Referral links
- Discount codes
- Brand partnerships
- Paid shout-outs
- Creator endorsements
- Free products or services provided for review
- Promotional livestreams
- Sponsored challenges or campaigns
- Commission-based recommendations
- Paid community posts, comments, or descriptions
4. Disclosure Requirement
If content is sponsored, paid, promotional, affiliated, or influenced by a commercial relationship, the creator must clearly disclose that relationship.
Disclosures should be:
- Clear
- Honest
- Easy to notice
- Placed near the sponsored claim or link
- Understandable to ordinary viewers
- Made before users make a purchase or click a commercial link
- Repeated where necessary in long videos or livestreams
Hidden, vague, misleading, or buried disclosures may not be enough.
5. Examples of Clear Disclosures
Depending on the content and context, clear disclosures may include statements such as:
- “This video is sponsored by [Brand].”
- “Paid promotion.”
- “Includes affiliate links.”
- “I may earn a commission if you buy through this link.”
- “This product was provided for free for review.”
- “This livestream includes a paid brand partnership.”
- “This post contains sponsored content.”
The disclosure should be accurate. Do not claim something is independent if it is sponsored or influenced by payment, commission, gifts, or other benefits.
6. Where Disclosures Should Appear
Disclosures should appear where users are likely to notice them.
Depending on the content type, disclosures may need to appear in:
- The video itself
- The beginning of the video
- The description
- The livestream title or description
- On-screen text
- Spoken audio
- Pinned comments
- Affiliate link descriptions
- Ad campaign materials
- Paid content pages
For livestreams, disclosures may need to be repeated because viewers may join after the stream begins.
7. Affiliate Links and Referral Codes
If you use affiliate links, referral codes, commission links, tracking links, discount codes, or similar commercial links, you must disclose that you may receive value if users click, sign up, or purchase.
Affiliate links must not:
- Mislead users about the destination
- Hide the commercial relationship
- Promote scams, fraud, malware, or illegal goods
- Use false urgency or fake discounts
- Make unsupported claims about results, earnings, health, safety, or performance
- Target children unfairly or inappropriately
8. Sponsored Reviews and Endorsements
Sponsored reviews and endorsements must be honest and must reflect the creator’s genuine opinion or experience where presented as a personal review.
Creators must not:
- Claim to have used a product if they have not used it
- Make false claims about product results
- Hide payment or free products
- Present paid claims as independent research
- Guarantee results that are not typical or proven
- Promote unsafe products or services
- Use fake testimonials
9. Product Placement
If a video, short, livestream, movie, trailer, or other content includes paid product placement, brand placement, branded props, branded integrations, or paid mentions, the creator should disclose this clearly.
Product placement must not be used to promote prohibited, unsafe, illegal, or misleading products or services.
10. Sponsored Content Involving Children
Sponsored content involving children or likely to appeal to children must be handled with extra care.
Creators and advertisers must not:
- Exploit children’s trust
- Pressure children to buy products
- Encourage children to ask parents or guardians to make purchases unfairly
- Hide paid promotions in child-directed content
- Use children to promote unsafe, age-inappropriate, or misleading products
- Collect children’s personal information through promotions
- Promote scams, gambling, alcohol, adult products, or restricted goods to children
Playflick may remove, restrict, demonetise, or age-restrict sponsored content that creates child-safety, consumer protection, or advertising compliance concerns.
11. Prohibited Sponsored Content
Sponsored content, affiliate promotions, endorsements, and paid partnerships must not promote prohibited goods, services, claims, or behaviour.
Prohibited sponsored content may include:
- Scams or fraud
- Phishing or malware
- Illegal goods or services
- Counterfeit goods
- Fake investments or get-rich-quick schemes
- Unlicensed financial services
- Dangerous products or unsafe challenges
- Misleading health claims
- Copyright piracy or illegal streaming services
- Adult sexual services or exploitative content
- Products or services targeted unlawfully at children
- Anything prohibited by Playflick’s Advertising Policy or Content Policy
12. Sponsored Claims Must Be Supportable
Claims made in sponsored content must be truthful, fair, and supportable.
This applies to claims about:
- Prices
- Discounts
- Availability
- Performance
- Health benefits
- Safety
- Income or earnings
- Investment returns
- Environmental benefits
- Product comparisons
- Endorsements or awards
Playflick may remove or restrict sponsored content that appears misleading, unsupported, deceptive, unsafe, or unlawful.
