3. This Page Is Guidance, Not a Replacement for Policies

This page is educational guidance only. It does not replace Playflick’s Terms of Service, policies, legal notices, or specific feature rules.

If there is a conflict between this guidance page and a formal Playflick policy, the formal policy applies.

4. Creator Responsibility

Creators are responsible for the content they upload, livestream, sell, promote, monetise, or share on Playflick.

Creators should make sure their content:

  • Follows Playflick policies
  • Does not harm or exploit others
  • Does not endanger children
  • Does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights
  • Does not mislead viewers
  • Does not contain scams, malware, phishing, or fraud
  • Is accurately titled, described, tagged, rated, and categorised
  • Is suitable for monetisation where monetisation is enabled

5. Before You Upload

Before uploading a video, short, movie, trailer, livestream recording, thumbnail, or other content, creators should ask:

  • Do I own this content or have permission to use it?
  • Does this content include music, clips, images, logos, or performances owned by someone else?
  • Does this content involve children or vulnerable people?
  • Does this content need an age restriction or warning?
  • Does this content include sponsored content, affiliate links, or paid promotion?
  • Does this content include AI-generated or synthetic media?
  • Could the title, thumbnail, or description mislead viewers?
  • Could this content be unsafe, harmful, or illegal?

6. Copyright Basics for Creators

Creators must not upload content that they do not own or have permission to use.

Copyright issues may involve:

  • Music
  • Sound recordings
  • Movie clips
  • TV clips
  • Trailers
  • Sports footage
  • Game footage
  • Images and artwork
  • Thumbnails
  • Scripts, performances, or voice recordings
  • Third-party creator videos

Saying “credit to the owner”, “no copyright intended”, or “for entertainment only” does not automatically give you permission to use protected material.

7. Trademark and Brand Use

Creators should not use logos, brand names, business names, studio names, public figure names, or protected marks in a way that misleads viewers.

Avoid suggesting that your content, profile, channel, or paid offer is official, sponsored, endorsed, authorised, or partnered unless that is true.

Fan, parody, commentary, review, and tribute content should be clearly labelled where needed and should not confuse users about official status.

8. Accurate Titles, Thumbnails, Tags, and Descriptions

Metadata should help viewers understand what they are about to watch.

Creators should avoid:

  • Clickbait that misrepresents the content
  • Shocking thumbnails unrelated to the video
  • Sexualised thumbnails used to attract clicks
  • Keyword stuffing
  • Using unrelated celebrity, movie, or brand names
  • False claims about official trailers, leaks, exclusives, or breaking news
  • Hiding mature content behind family-friendly labels
  • Misleading users about paid content or subscriptions

9. Content Ratings and Age Restrictions

Creators should label mature or sensitive content responsibly where tools are available.

Content may need warnings, age restriction, reduced visibility, or removal if it includes:

  • Strong language
  • Mature themes
  • Violence or injury
  • Horror or disturbing scenes
  • Dangerous activities
  • Drug, alcohol, or tobacco references
  • Adult humour or discussion
  • Distressing news or documentary material

Some content is prohibited regardless of rating, including child exploitation, non-consensual intimate content, scams, malware, terrorist content, and credible threats of violence.

10. Child Safety for Creators

Creators must treat child safety as a top priority.

Creators must not upload, request, promote, or interact with content that:

  • Sexualises minors
  • Shows or promotes child sexual abuse material
  • Encourages grooming or unsafe contact with children
  • Exposes a child’s home, school, location, routine, or private information
  • Shows children in unsafe, humiliating, vulnerable, or exploitative situations
  • Encourages dangerous challenges involving children
  • Uses children to manipulate viewers, money, sympathy, or engagement

Serious child-safety violations may result in immediate removal, account termination, evidence preservation, and reporting where appropriate or required.

11. Sponsored Content and Affiliate Links

Creators must clearly disclose sponsored content, paid promotions, affiliate links, referral links, gifted products, product placements, or brand partnerships where required.

Clear disclosures may include:

  • “This video is sponsored by [Brand].”
  • “Paid promotion.”
  • “Includes affiliate links.”
  • “I may earn a commission if you buy through this link.”
  • “This product was provided for free for review.”

Sponsored content must not mislead users, target children unfairly, promote scams, or make unsupported claims.

12. AI-Generated Content

Creators should disclose AI-generated or AI-manipulated content where viewers may reasonably believe the content is real, recorded, authentic, or created without AI.

Disclosure is especially important where AI is used to create or alter:

  • A real person’s face or voice
  • News-like footage
  • Public-interest content
  • Medical, financial, legal, or safety-related content
  • Celebrity, creator, or public figure appearances
  • Advertisements, endorsements, or sponsored content

AI must not be used to impersonate, defame, sexually exploit, mislead, scam, or create non-consensual intimate content.

13. Livestreaming Guidance

Livestreams can create immediate risks because they happen in real time.

Before livestreaming, creators should:

  • Avoid revealing private information or locations
  • Moderate live chat where possible
  • Avoid streaming copyrighted content without permission
  • Avoid dangerous activities or challenges
  • Protect children and vulnerable people
  • Stop the stream if something unsafe happens
  • Use appropriate age restrictions or warnings where available

14. Monetisation Guidance

Monetisation is a privilege, not a guarantee.

Creators using monetisation should:

  • Upload content they own or have permission to monetise
  • Avoid fake engagement and invalid traffic
  • Describe paid content accurately
  • Deliver subscription benefits honestly where applicable
  • Keep payout and tax information accurate
  • Disclose sponsorships and affiliate links where required
  • Avoid refund abuse, chargeback abuse, or payment manipulation
  • Understand that earnings may be estimated, adjusted, withheld, or reversed

15. Advertising Guidance

Creators and advertisers should make sure ads, promoted content, sponsored videos, and commercial links are truthful, safe, and properly disclosed.

Ads and promotions must not:

  • Promote scams, phishing, malware, or fraud
  • Use fake endorsements or testimonials
  • Make unsupported health, financial, legal, or safety claims
  • Hide paid relationships
  • Target children unfairly
  • Promote illegal or prohibited goods or services

16. Avoiding Spam and Fake Engagement

Creators must not manipulate Playflick systems.

Prohibited activity includes:

  • Buying fake views
  • Buying fake likes, comments, or subscribers
  • Using bots or scripts for engagement
  • Posting duplicate or repetitive low-quality content at scale
  • Keyword stuffing
  • Using misleading metadata to manipulate search
  • Coordinating fake reports against other users
  • Creating multiple accounts to evade restrictions

17. External Links

Creators should only share external links that are safe, relevant, lawful, and not misleading.

Do not link to:

  • Phishing pages
  • Malware or suspicious downloads
  • Fake Playflick support pages
  • Scams or fake giveaways
  • Illegal streaming or piracy sites
  • Counterfeit goods
  • Unsafe private groups involving children
  • Websites that violate Playflick policies

18. Account Security for Creators

Creators should protect their accounts carefully, especially if they use monetisation, paid content, subscriptions, advertising, or payout tools.

Creators should:

  • Use a strong and unique password
  • Secure the email linked to the account
  • Enable two-factor authentication where available
  • Never share passwords or login codes
  • Watch for fake support or phishing messages
  • Remove former team members from account access where applicable
  • Report suspicious account activity quickly

19. Common Policy Mistakes

Common creator mistakes include:

  • Using copyrighted music without permission
  • Re-uploading other people’s videos
  • Using misleading thumbnails
  • Not disclosing sponsorships
  • Marking mature content as family-friendly
  • Using AI voices or faces deceptively
  • Posting unsafe external links
  • Buying fake engagement
  • Ignoring copyright notices or moderation warnings
  • Trying to create new accounts after suspension

20. What Happens If You Break the Rules?

Depending on the issue, Playflick may take action.

Actions may include:

  • Warnings
  • Content removal
  • Age restriction
  • Reduced visibility
  • Comment or livestream restrictions
  • Demonetisation
  • Payment or payout holds
  • Account restrictions
  • Account suspension
  • Account termination
  • Evidence preservation
  • Reporting serious safety issues where appropriate or required

21. Appeals and Learning from Mistakes

If you believe Playflick made a mistake, you may request a review under our Appeals Policy where available.

Appeals should be clear, respectful, and supported by useful information.

Good appeal information may include:

  • The affected content or account URL
  • The decision you are appealing
  • Why you believe the decision was incorrect
  • Relevant timestamps
