2. Purpose of This Policy

Playflick may allow eligible creators to earn a share of eligible advertising revenue generated from ads shown on or around their eligible content, where ad revenue share features are available.

This policy explains:

  • Who may be eligible for ad revenue share
  • What content may be eligible for ad revenue
  • How ad revenue may be calculated
  • Why ad revenue may be reduced or unavailable
  • How invalid traffic may affect earnings
  • How refunds, chargebacks, and advertiser adjustments may affect earnings
  • How Playflick may change ad revenue share rules over time

3. No Guaranteed Ad Revenue

Playflick does not guarantee that creators will receive ad revenue.

Playflick does not guarantee:

  • That ads will appear on any specific video
  • That ads will appear in every country or region
  • That every view will generate revenue
  • That every ad impression will be paid
  • That every ad click will be valid
  • That ad revenue will remain the same over time
  • That advertiser demand will exist for any category or audience
  • That creator earnings will reach a payout threshold

4. Eligibility for Ad Revenue Share

To earn ad revenue share, creators may need to meet Playflick eligibility requirements.

Eligibility requirements may include:

  • Having an active Playflick account
  • Being approved for creator monetisation

  • Providing accurate identity, payout, and tax information where required
  • Complying with Playflick policies
  • Uploading eligible content
  • Avoiding fake engagement and invalid traffic
  • Not being subject to sanctions or restricted-country limitations
  • Maintaining good account standing

Playflick may approve, deny, suspend, or remove ad revenue share access where appropriate.

5. Eligible Content

Not all content is eligible for ad revenue share.

Content may need to meet requirements relating to:

  • Originality
  • Rights ownership or licensing
  • Advertiser suitability
  • Content quality
  • Audience safety
  • Age restrictions
  • Community standards
  • Copyright compliance
  • Metadata accuracy
  • Spam and fake engagement signals

Playflick may disable ads or ad revenue share on content that is unsuitable, restricted, disputed, demonetised, removed, or under review.

6. Content That May Be Ineligible for Ads

Content may be ineligible for ad revenue share if it includes or promotes:

  • Child sexual abuse or child exploitation
  • Sexual content involving minors
  • Non-consensual intimate content
  • Terrorist or violent extremist content
  • Hate speech or targeted abuse
  • Graphic violence mainly intended to shock or glorify harm
  • Scams, phishing, malware, or fraud
  • Illegal goods or services
  • Copyright-infringing content
  • Misleading health, financial, legal, or safety claims
  • Dangerous challenges or harmful instructions
  • Repeated low-quality, spam, or mass-generated content

7. Advertiser Suitability

Some content may be allowed on Playflick but may not be suitable for advertising.

Content may receive limited or no ads if it includes:

  • Mature themes
  • Strong language
  • Sensitive news or documentary topics
  • Distressing events
  • Moderate violence
  • Controversial public issues
  • Adult humour
  • Age-restricted material
  • Content under rights review
  • Content that advertisers may choose to avoid

Advertiser suitability may change over time depending on advertiser demand, user safety, legal requirements, brand safety standards, and Playflick policies.

8. How Ad Revenue May Be Generated

Advertising revenue may be generated through different ad formats where available.

Ad formats may include:

  • Video ads before, during, or after videos
  • Display ads
  • Sidebar ads
  • Homepage ads
  • Profile or channel ads
  • Promoted content
  • Sponsored placements
  • VAST or VPAID ads where supported
  • Other advertising formats introduced by Playflick

Not all ad formats may be eligible for creator revenue share.

9. Gross Revenue and Net Revenue

Creator ad revenue share may be calculated from eligible net advertising revenue rather than gross advertiser spend.

Net advertising revenue may be calculated after deductions such as:

  • Platform commission
  • Payment-provider fees
  • Advertising service costs
  • Ad serving costs
  • Taxes
  • Refunds
  • Chargebacks
  • Advertiser credits
  • Invalid traffic adjustments
  • Fraud adjustments
  • Currency conversion costs
  • Third-party advertising provider fees

10. Ad Revenue Share Rate

Playflick may set, change, or apply different ad revenue share rates depending on the programme, creator type, ad product, content type, region, advertiser demand, third-party provider rules, or special agreement.

Revenue share rates may vary based on:

  • Ad format
  • Creator programme
  • Content category
  • Viewer country or region
  • Advertiser country or region
  • Ad campaign type
  • Platform costs
  • Third-party ad network rules
  • Legal or tax requirements

Playflick may update ad revenue share rates at any time for future earnings.

11. Estimated Ad Earnings

Creator dashboards may show estimated ad earnings where available.

Estimated ad earnings are not final and may change because of:

  • Invalid traffic checks
  • Advertiser billing adjustments
  • Refunds
  • Chargebacks
  • Campaign reconciliation
  • Currency conversion
  • Tax withholding
  • Ad network reporting delays
  • Policy enforcement
  • Technical corrections

Final payout amounts may differ from estimated dashboard amounts.

12. Valid Views, Impressions, and Clicks

Not every video view, ad impression, ad click, or watch session will generate ad revenue.

Revenue may depend on whether activity is considered valid under Playflick systems, advertiser rules, third-party ad provider rules, and fraud-prevention checks.

Playflick may discount or exclude activity that appears invalid, artificial, suspicious, automated, accidental, fraudulent, or policy-violating.

13. Invalid Traffic

Invalid traffic is not eligible for ad revenue share.

Invalid traffic may include:

  • Bot views
  • Automated playback
  • Click farm activity
  • View farm activity
  • Self-clicking ads
  • Encouraging users to click ads artificially
  • Repeated artificial refreshes
  • Fake watch time
  • Fake impressions
  • Fake ad clicks
  • Traffic generated by malware or scripts
  • Coordinated ad manipulation
  • Traffic from prohibited automation tools

Playflick may withhold, remove, reverse, or adjust ad revenue connected to invalid traffic.

14. Prohibited Ad Manipulation

Creators must not manipulate ads or encourage others to manipulate ads.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Clicking your own ads
  • Asking viewers to click ads to support you
  • Using bots to view or click ads
  • Buying fake views or fake ad traffic
  • Using traffic exchanges
  • Using paid-to-click schemes
  • Embedding videos mainly to create artificial ad impressions
  • Using misleading thumbnails or titles to generate low-quality ad traffic
  • Using automation to repeatedly play videos for ad revenue

15. Advertiser Refunds, Credits, and Chargebacks

Advertiser refunds, advertiser credits, payment reversals, campaign corrections, chargebacks, or invalid traffic adjustments may reduce creator ad revenue.

Playflick may deduct or reverse amounts from creator balances where advertiser payments are refunded, reversed, disputed, corrected, or determined to relate to invalid traffic.

These adjustments may occur after earnings were previously estimated or shown in a dashboard.

16. Ads on Embedded Content

Where Playflick allows embedded content, ads may or may not appear on embedded videos depending on platform settings, creator settings, advertiser rules, technical availability, and policy requirements.

Creators and third-party sites must not interfere with required ads, hide ads, block ad tracking, create fake impressions, or use embeds to manipulate ad revenue.

More information is available in our Embed Policy.

17. Ads on Age-Restricted Content

Age-restricted content may have limited or no advertising.

Age restriction may affect:

  • Ad eligibility
  • Ad demand
  • Ad formats
  • Viewer eligibility
  • Recommendation reach
  • Creator earnings

Playflick may disable or limit ads on age-restricted or sensitive content.

18. Sponsored Content and Ads

Creator sponsorships, affiliate links, product placements, paid promotions, or brand deals are separate from Playflick ad revenue share unless Playflick states otherwise.

Sponsored content must be clearly disclosed where required and must follow Playflick’s Sponsored Content & Affiliate Disclosure Policy and Advertising Policy.

Playflick may restrict ads on sponsored content that is misleading, unsafe, undisclosed, prohibited, or unsuitable for advertisers.

19. Copyright and Rights Issues

Content with copyright, trademark, privacy, impersonation, or other rights issues may be ineligible for ad revenue.

Playflick may disable ads, withhold earnings, reverse earnings, or remove content where:

  • A copyright complaint is received
  • A trademark complaint is received
  • A rights dispute exists
  • The creator lacks permission to monetise the content
  • The content contains unauthorised music, clips, footage, images, or performances
  • The content is removed under a rights policy

20. Payment Holds

Playflick may place holds on ad revenue where review is needed.

Holds may apply because of:

  • Invalid traffic review
  • Fraud review
  • Advertiser dispute
  • Payment-provider issue
  • Copyright or rights complaint
  • Policy violation
  • Tax information issue
  • Payout verification issue
  • Account ownership dispute
  • Security concern

21. Taxes and Reporting

Ad revenue may be subject to tax, withholding, reporting, and payment-provider requirements.

Creators are responsible for their own tax obligations unless Playflick or a provider is legally required to collect, report, withhold, or remit tax.

Playflick may require tax information before enabling payouts or releasing earnings.

More information is available in our Tax Information Policy.

22. Minimum Payout Thresholds

Ad revenue may count toward creator payout thresholds where applicable.

Payout thresholds may vary depending on:

  • Currency
  • Country or region
  • Payout provider
  • Payment method
  • Creator programme
  • Tax or compliance status
  • Platform settings

Balances below the minimum threshold may remain pending until the threshold is reached.

23. Revenue Reports and Analytics

Playflick may provide ad analytics, estimated earnings, impression counts, click counts, RPM, CPM, payout summaries, or revenue reports where available.

These reports may be delayed, estimated, incomplete, corrected, or unavailable.

Analytics should not be treated as final payment records unless Playflick expressly identifies them as final.

24. Creator Responsibilities

Creators participating in ad revenue share must:

  • Follow Playflick policies
  • Upload content they own or have permission to monetise
  • Avoid fake engagement and invalid traffic
  • Use accurate titles, thumbnails, descriptions, tags, and categories
  • Disclose sponsored content where required
  • Keep account, payout, and tax information accurate
  • Protect their account from compromise
  • Report suspicious traffic or account activity

25. Enforcement

Playflick may take action where ad revenue share is affected by policy violations, invalid traffic, ad manipulation, rights issues, fraud, payment disputes, or other abuse.

Enforcement may include:

  • Disabling ads on content
  • Limiting ads on content
  • Removing content from monetisation
  • Withholding ad revenue
  • Reversing ad revenue
  • Adjusting analytics or balances
  • Suspending monetisation
  • Restricting payouts
  • Removing creator programme access
  • Suspending or terminating accounts
  • Preserving records for legal, payment, fraud, or rights disputes

26. Appeals

If your ads, ad revenue, monetisation status, payout, or account was restricted and you believe Playflick made a mistake, you may request a review under our Appeals Policy.

27. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Ad Revenue Share Policy from time to time.

Changes may reflect new ad products, advertiser rules, creator programme changes, revenue share models, invalid traffic systems, payment-provider rules, tax rules, platform costs, legal requirements, or business decisions.
