Effective Date: 2026

Last Updated: 2026

This Content Ratings & Classification Policy explains how Playflick™ Media .ltd may classify, rate, label, age-restrict, organise, moderate, or limit access to content on Playflick.com.

Playflick is a video discovery and creator platform for independent entertainment, short films, trailers, creators, and community videos. Because Playflick may include user-generated videos, paid content, livestreams, movies, shorts, comments, thumbnails, and creator-made entertainment, content may be classified or restricted to help users make safer and more informed viewing choices.

This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Content Policy, Age Restriction Policy, Child Safety Policy, Online Safety Policy, Video Upload Policy, User Generated Content Policy, Paid Content Terms, Livestreaming Policy, Moderation Policy, and Appeals Policy.

2. Purpose of Ratings and Classification

Playflick may use content ratings and classification to:

  • Help users understand the nature of content before watching
  • Help parents and guardians make informed decisions
  • Protect younger users from unsuitable content
  • Support age restriction and content warnings
  • Support moderation and enforcement
  • Help creators label their content responsibly
  • Support paid content, advertising, livestreaming, and discovery rules
  • Comply with applicable legal, safety, platform, and operational requirements

3. Classification Is Not a Guarantee

Content ratings, labels, warnings, and classifications are provided for guidance only.

Playflick does not guarantee that every video, livestream, thumbnail, title, comment, description, or paid item will be classified perfectly or immediately.

Creators are responsible for accurately describing and categorising their content where tools are available.

4. Creator Responsibility

Creators must make reasonable efforts to label, describe, tag, and categorise their content accurately.

Creators must not:

  • Hide mature or unsafe content behind misleading thumbnails or titles
  • Use family-friendly labels for unsuitable content
  • Misrepresent violent, sexual, harmful, or distressing content
  • Use categories to evade moderation
  • Use tags to mislead users or manipulate search
  • Mark content as suitable for children where it is not suitable
  • Fail to disclose paid, sponsored, sensitive, or restricted content where required

5. Playflick Classification Categories

Playflick may use general content categories, warnings, labels, or restrictions depending on the platform features available.

Categories may include:

  • General Audience: Content that appears suitable for a broad audience.
  • Parental Guidance Suggested: Content that may include mild mature themes or mild language.
  • Teen / Older Teen: Content that may include stronger themes, language, or moderate intensity.
  • Mature Audience: Content that may be unsuitable for younger users and may be age-restricted.
  • Restricted: Content that may be limited, hidden, removed, or available only to eligible users.
  • Prohibited: Content that is not allowed on Playflick and may be removed.

Playflick may use different or additional labels depending on feature availability, jurisdiction, legal requirements, or moderation needs.

6. Content That May Require Warnings or Restrictions

Content may require warnings, reduced visibility, or age restriction if it includes:

  • Strong language
  • Mature themes
  • Violence or injury
  • Distressing news or documentary material
  • Medical procedures or injury discussion
  • Horror, fear, or disturbing scenes
  • Drug, alcohol, or tobacco references
  • Dangerous activities shown with context
  • Adult themes without explicit sexual content
  • Sensitive social, political, or historical topics
  • Content that may be unsuitable for children or younger teenagers

7. Content That May Be Age-Restricted

Playflick may age-restrict content that is not necessarily prohibited but may be unsuitable for younger users.

Age-restricted content may include:

  • Mature comedy or entertainment
  • Moderate violence or fight scenes
  • Distressing documentary content
  • Strong language
  • Adult discussion or themes
  • Non-graphic educational discussion of sensitive topics
  • Horror or disturbing fictional scenes
  • Dangerous activities shown with warnings and context

Age restriction does not guarantee that content will remain available. Content that violates Playflick policies may still be removed.

8. Content That Is Prohibited Regardless of Rating

Some content is not allowed on Playflick even if a creator attempts to label it as restricted, mature, educational, documentary, fictional, or artistic.

Prohibited content includes:

  • Child sexual abuse material
  • Sexual content involving minors
  • Child exploitation or grooming
  • Non-consensual intimate content
  • Terrorist or violent extremist content
  • Credible threats of violence
  • Content encouraging suicide, self-harm, eating disorders, or serious injury
  • Graphic violence intended mainly to shock, celebrate, or glorify harm
  • Scams, phishing, malware, or fraud
  • Illegal goods or services
  • Copyright piracy
  • Content that seriously endangers users or the public

9. Thumbnails, Titles, and Descriptions

Content classification includes more than the video itself. Playflick may also review thumbnails, titles, descriptions, tags, categories, comments, and surrounding context.

Thumbnails, titles, and descriptions must not:

  • Misrepresent the content rating
  • Hide adult, violent, distressing, or unsafe content
  • Use shock images to attract clicks
  • Sexualise minors
  • Falsely claim content is family-friendly
  • Use misleading warnings or fake ratings
  • Use unrelated keywords to reach younger users

10. Livestream Classification

Livestreams may be classified, restricted, stopped, removed, or reviewed in real time or after broadcast.

Livestreams may require additional caution because live content can change quickly and may create immediate safety, copyright, privacy, or legal risks.

Playflick may disable live chat, stop a stream, remove a recording, restrict livestreaming access, or age-restrict livestreams where needed.

11. Paid Content Classification

Paid videos, rentals, subscriptions, movies, or subscriber-only content may be subject to classification and additional review.

Creators must not sell or monetise content using misleading ratings, descriptions, thumbnails, or warnings.

Playflick may restrict paid access, issue refunds or credits, disable monetisation, withhold earnings, or remove paid content if classification is misleading or the content violates Playflick policies.

12. Advertising Classification

Ads and promoted content may be classified or restricted based on audience suitability, legal requirements, advertiser rules, and Playflick’s Advertising Policy.

Ads may be restricted where they involve:

  • Age-sensitive goods or services
  • Financial products
  • Health-related claims
  • Political or public issue messaging
  • Mature entertainment
  • Gambling-related material where lawful
  • Alcohol-related material where lawful
  • Content unsuitable for children

Playflick may reject, pause, remove, or restrict ads that are not suitable for the intended audience.

13. Classification and Recommendations

Playflick may use content ratings, labels, user reports, policy signals, and moderation decisions to affect search, recommendations, trending pages, categories, and visibility.

Content may receive reduced visibility if it is sensitive, mature, disputed, misleading, repeatedly reported, age-restricted, or unsuitable for broad recommendation.

14. Parental and Guardian Role

Parents and guardians should supervise younger users and review whether Playflick is appropriate for them.

Parents and guardians should:

  • Review Playflick’s Parental & Guardian Guide
  • Talk to young users about safe viewing
  • Use device-level parental controls where available
  • Report unsuitable or harmful content
  • Encourage young users to ask for help if something makes them uncomfortable

Classification tools are helpful but cannot replace parental guidance.
