These API & Developer Terms explain the rules for accessing or using any API, developer tools, app integrations, mobile app services, tokens, keys, webhooks, automated access, or technical interfaces made available by Playflick™ Media .ltd through Playflick.com.

These terms apply to developers, businesses, creators, users, apps, integrations, services, bots, scripts, tools, and any person or organisation that accesses Playflick through technical or automated methods.

These terms should be read together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Community Guidelines, Acceptable Use Policy, Online Safety Policy, Copyright & Takedown Policy, Advertising Policy, and any additional developer documentation or API rules we publish.

  • Third-party integrations
  • Creator tools
  • Analytics integrations
  • Upload integrations
  • Embedded video tools
  • Any other technical interface provided by Playflick

3. Permission to Use the API

Playflick may allow approved users or developers to access certain APIs or developer tools.

API access is a limited, revocable permission. It is not a sale, transfer, or permanent right.

Playflick may approve, deny, suspend, restrict, revoke, or change API access at any time for safety, security, legal, operational, commercial, abuse-prevention, or platform-integrity reasons.


4. Developer Account and Registration

To use some developer tools, you may need a Playflick account, developer app, API token, or approved integration.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate developer and business information
  • Keep your developer information up to date
  • Use your real identity or authorised business identity
  • Accurately describe your app or integration
  • Use API access only for the approved purpose
  • Comply with Playflick policies and developer documentation
  • Cooperate with Playflick security, privacy, and compliance reviews

We may require identity, business, website, app, privacy, security, or compliance verification before allowing or continuing API access.


5. API Keys, Tokens, and Credentials

API keys, tokens, secrets, credentials, and developer access details are confidential.

You must:

  • Keep API keys and tokens secure
  • Use secure storage for credentials
  • Use HTTPS where required
  • Rotate keys if compromised
  • Notify Playflick immediately if keys or tokens are exposed
  • Use separate credentials for separate apps where required
  • Prevent unauthorised access to your developer account

You must not:

  • Share API keys publicly
  • Publish tokens in code repositories
  • Sell, rent, transfer, or sublicense API access
  • Use another developer’s credentials
  • Use stolen, leaked, or unauthorised credentials
  • Bypass authentication or authorisation controls

6. Allowed API Use

You may use Playflick APIs only for lawful, safe, honest, and approved purposes.

Allowed uses may include:

  • Building approved apps or integrations
  • Managing your own authorised content
  • Displaying public Playflick content where permitted
  • Uploading content through approved tools
  • Managing creator or channel data with permission
  • Accessing account data with user authorisation
  • Integrating Playflick features into approved services
  • Using analytics or reporting features where authorised

Your use must remain within Playflick’s technical limits, user permissions, privacy rules, and published documentation.


7. Prohibited API Use

You must not use Playflick APIs, developer tools, automation, or technical access to:

  • Break the law
  • Violate Playflick policies
  • Scrape, harvest, or mass-collect user data
  • Download videos without permission
  • Copy, clone, or mirror Playflick
  • Build a competing service using Playflick data or systems
  • Spam users
  • Send unsolicited messages
  • Create fake accounts
  • Generate fake views, likes, comments, subscriptions, or watch time
  • Manipulate recommendations, rankings, analytics, ads, or monetisation
  • Bypass privacy settings, security controls, upload limits, payment controls, or content restrictions
  • Access private data without authorisation
  • Expose, sell, share, or misuse personal data
  • Use Playflick data for surveillance, harassment, discrimination, profiling, or unlawful tracking
  • Upload malware, spam, infringing content, illegal content, or harmful content
  • Interfere with Playflick servers, APIs, databases, storage, streaming, uploads, ads, payments, or security systems

8. User Data and Privacy

If your app or integration accesses user data, you must protect that data and comply with all applicable privacy, data protection, cookie, electronic marketing, and security laws.

You must:

  • Collect only the data you need
  • Use data only for the purpose clearly explained to the user
  • Obtain valid user consent or another lawful basis where required
  • Provide a clear privacy policy
  • Keep user data secure
  • Delete user data when no longer needed
  • Delete user data when required by Playflick or the user, unless legally required to keep it
  • Respect user privacy settings and permissions
  • Notify Playflick promptly of any data breach involving Playflick data

You must not:

  • Sell Playflick user data
  • Share user data without permission or lawful basis
  • Use user data for unrelated advertising, profiling, surveillance, or tracking
  • Collect passwords or payment details through deceptive means
  • Store access tokens insecurely
  • Use data after a user revokes permission

9. Security Requirements

Developers must maintain reasonable security practices.

Security measures may include:

  • HTTPS for data transmission
  • Secure credential storage
  • Least-privilege access
  • Regular security updates
  • Input validation
  • Protection against injection attacks
  • Protection against cross-site scripting
  • Rate limiting
  • Logging and monitoring
  • Prompt incident response
  • Secure deletion of unnecessary data

Playflick may suspend API access if we believe your app or integration creates a security risk.


10. Rate Limits and Technical Limits

Playflick may apply rate limits, usage limits, upload limits, storage limits, bandwidth limits, request limits, feature limits, and other technical restrictions.

You must not:

  • Bypass rate limits
  • Create multiple apps or accounts to avoid limits
  • Use rotating IPs to evade restrictions
  • Overload Playflick systems
  • Make excessive, abusive, or unnecessary requests
  • Ignore API error responses or retry limits

We may throttle, block, restrict, or charge for excessive usage where applicable.


11. Content Uploaded Through APIs

Content uploaded through APIs or developer tools must follow all Playflick rules.

You are responsible for any content uploaded through your app, integration, credentials, or automated tools.

You must not use APIs to upload:

  • Copyright-infringing content
  • Pirated videos
  • Spam videos
  • Malware or harmful files
  • Child sexual abuse material
  • Terrorist or extremist content
  • Illegal or unsafe content
  • Misleading or deceptive content
  • Content that violates our Community Guidelines

12. Automated Access, Bots, and Scraping

Automated access is only allowed where expressly authorised by Playflick.

You must not use bots, scrapers, crawlers, scripts, or automation to:

  • Harvest content or user data
  • Download videos at scale
  • Copy metadata or profiles
  • Spam comments or messages
  • Create accounts automatically
  • Generate fake engagement
  • Manipulate analytics or monetisation
  • Bypass restrictions
  • Overload Playflick systems

Search engine indexing may be allowed where it follows normal robots.txt and platform rules.


13. Branding and Public Statements

You must not use Playflick’s name, logo, trademark, or branding in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership, certification, or official status unless Playflick has given written permission.

You must not:

  • Claim your app is official unless authorised
  • Use Playflick branding for phishing or scams
  • Mislead users about your relationship with Playflick
  • Register confusingly similar names, logos, or domains
  • Use Playflick screenshots, icons, or marks in a misleading way

14. App Review and Audit Rights

Playflick may review your app, integration, website, privacy policy, security practices, data use, API activity, and compliance with these terms.

We may ask you to provide:

  • App descriptions
  • Use-case explanations
  • Privacy policy links
  • Security information
  • Data handling details
  • Proof of user consent
  • Business verification
  • Technical logs
  • Other information needed to assess compliance

Failure to cooperate may result in suspension or termination of API access.


15. Suspension or Termination of API Access

Playflick may suspend, restrict, revoke, or terminate API access at any time.

Reasons may include:

  • Violation of these terms
  • Violation of Playflick policies
  • Security risk
  • Privacy risk
  • Excessive usage
  • Abusive automation
  • Fake engagement
  • Spam or platform manipulation
  • Copyright infringement
  • Illegal content
  • User complaints
  • Data misuse
  • Failure to complete verification
  • Legal or regulatory risk
  • Business or operational reasons

If API access is terminated, you must stop using Playflick APIs and delete Playflick data where required.


16. Data Deletion After Termination

If your API access is suspended, revoked, or terminated, or if a user revokes permission, you must delete Playflick data unless you have a lawful reason to retain it.

Playflick may require written confirmation that data has been deleted.

You must not continue using stored Playflick data after your access has ended unless Playflick expressly permits it or applicable law requires retention.


17. Fees and Paid API Access

Playflick may offer free or paid API access depending on feature type, usage, business needs, or platform rules.

If paid API access is offered, fees, limits, billing terms, renewal terms, and cancellation rules will be provided separately or at checkout.

Playflick may change API pricing, limits, or availability at any time, subject to applicable law and any specific agreement we have with you.


18. No Guarantee of Availability

Playflick does not guarantee that APIs or developer tools will always be available, error-free, backward-compatible, uninterrupted, secure, or supported.

Playflick may change, limit, suspend, deprecate, replace, or discontinue APIs or features at any time.

You are responsible for building your app or integration so that it can handle API errors, downtime, rate limits, changes, and discontinued features.


19. No Resale or Unauthorised Commercial Use

You must not resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or commercially exploit API access, Playflick data, Playflick content, user data, or developer credentials unless Playflick gives written permission.

You must not use API access to create a competing video platform, content database, user database, scraping service, analytics product, ad network, or commercial service based substantially on Playflick data without written permission.


20. Reporting Security Issues

If you discover a security vulnerability, exposed credential, data leak, API weakness, or technical issue affecting Playflick, please report it responsibly.

21. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Playflick™ Media .ltd and its owners, directors, employees, contractors, suppliers, service providers, and partners from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, legal fees, investigations, or disputes arising from:

  • Your app or integration
  • Your API use
  • Your misuse of Playflick data
  • Your breach of these terms
  • Your breach of privacy, security, copyright, consumer, or advertising laws
  • Your users’ activity through your app
  • Your failure to protect credentials or user data
  • Your automated access, scraping, spam, or platform manipulation

22. Changes to These API & Developer Terms

We may update these API & Developer Terms from time to time.

Changes may reflect new developer tools, legal requirements, security requirements, privacy rules, technical limits, payment terms, platform changes, or enforcement practices.

Your continued use of Playflick APIs or developer tools after changes become effective means you agree to the updated terms.
